On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard call records and evidence obtained from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test over the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most widely reported child disappearance cases and remains unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

A separate recorded message, shared in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine had been, but I know what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am she? What then? Isn't that crucial for you?"

"I don't want money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I just want to know," the recording stated.

The panel was informed that via electronic messages, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, transmitted childhood photos to her phone in a bid to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, an intelligence analyst with the police force who collated the evidence, advised the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to close associates of the McCanns, according to the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann picked up a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

That day Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will persist and I plan to establish my position."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg established a relationship via internet with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a visit to the McCanns' home in the county in last December.

Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had reached out using communication app to Mrs McCann to express the press had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be considered genuine in the period leading up to the visit to that location, Leicestershire, in that winter.

The court learned message exchanges between the two defendants, in last November, discussing trying to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from silverware at a eating establishment.

"We need to assert ourselves," the co-defendant informed Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the trip to their residence, the defendant transmitted a message which stated: "We find ourselves positioned near the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark similar to detectives. I wanted to do this with someone else I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The trial ongoing.
