The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his management team confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital arrives after the boxing community had expressed condolences for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
