FC Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in domestic competition over two years after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to host the next European match facing Eintracht in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
