The loved ones of teenagers missing after a deadly blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are facing an agonising period of uncertainty for answers and pleading for clues about their family members via social media.

The blaze devastated the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Alps of the Valais region, in the early hours of New Year's Day. Confirmed video show the ceiling igniting as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Authorities have stated that it could take considerable time to identify the fatalities of the disaster, which killed numerous partygoers and injured another scores more. Officials noted on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been identified, with efforts ongoing to name the remaining few.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been taking to the internet to plead for information about their friends who were at the bar that fateful night.

Appeals for the Missing

The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an appeal from his mother.

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Swiss and Greek nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to media.

Her brother has published an appeal online, saying the family has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.
